Finally. The drought is over. It only took 6,300 tee shots, but the famed par-3 17th at TPC Sawgrass yielded its first hole-in-one in 14 years at The Players Championship on Friday.

Will Wilcox made a rare ace with a pitching wedge from 147 yards in the second round. And he did it with a yellow ball.

Walker celebrates with Hawaii pageant princesses
Jimmy Walker went 0-for-187 in his first seven years on the PGA Tour, but on Sunday at Waialae Country Club, he snagged his second win in six starts in the new 2013-14 wraparound season (making him 2-for-193). Despite struggling with his driver off the tee, Chris Kirk shot a five-under 65 to take a one-shot lead over fellow University of Georgia alumnus Harris English and PGA Tour rookie Will Wilcox heading into the final round of the Sony Open.

Kirk made the most out of his round on Saturday at Waialae Country Club, which included a nine-footer for birdie on no. 18 to narrowly separate him from the clustered leaderboard. There are 26 players within five shots of the lead.

Knox

59? No big deal!

Just two weeks after Will Wilcox posted a 59 at Web.com Tour’s Utah Championship, Russell Knox matched the feat at Hillcrest Country Club in the second round of the Albertsons Boise Open.

The 28-year-old Scotland native, who started on no. 10, kicked off his round with a birdie, then jumped on that awful par train for four holes, before playing the last four holes four-under. After making the turn, he made an eagle on no. 2, followed by five consecutive birdies. From holes 15-7, he was 11-under. Here’s a screenshot of his scorecard:
