As hopefully most of you know — because you read it, yesterday — I wrote a review of my friend Shane Ryan’s new book, Slaying the Tiger: A year inside the ropes on the new PGA Tour. Well, Shane’s book is creating quite a bit of buzz in the golf media. Some have taken issue with it for various reasons, but more have raved about it for being an honest depiction of the younger generation on the PGA Tour.

Shane joined Gary Williams on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive to chat about the book. Here’s the first clip:

By Stephanie Wei under Tiger Woods

Jack Nicklaus has been in the same scary, dark place that Tiger Woods appears to be dealing with at the moment — the chipping yips. Nicklaus, who was a guest on Golf Channel’s Morning Drive on Friday, said he endured similar short-game struggles in 1979, and he was actually putting it around bunkers because he couldn’t chip it.

The former PGA president listed Watson and Faldo’s major wins, along with their Ryder Cup records, and then he called Poulter a “Lil Girl” on Twitter and expanded on those thoughts on Facebook, writing, “Sounds like a little girl squealing during recess.”

In the interview with Golf Channel, Bishop explained the background behind his postings and expressed regret over the ensuing consequences.

Erik Kuselias will no longer sour your daily dose of Morning Drive

Ever wonder what happens when you’re under contract, but you don’t know enough about golf? You get “reassigned” to one of NBC Sports’ sister channels. Yep, I’m referring to “Morning Drive” co-host Erik Kuselias, a member of Mensa International (a society for people with extraordinarily high IQs).

Since the debut of the daily morning weekday talk show on Golf Channel, a network of the NBC Sports Group, in January 2011, Kuselias has been a co-host, but starting on Monday, May 14th, he will no longer occupy the seat next to Gary Williams.
