Woods turning to new horizons for his new tourney

Tiger Woods is hosting an “amazing field” of 18 of the best players in the world — himself included — at the Northwestern Mutual World Challenge this week, where it will be held at Sherwood Country Club for the last time before it moves away from Woods’ native California to his adopted state of Florida next year.

On the eve of the first round, Woods told reporters he thinks it’s harder than ever to win tournaments these days because of the equipment advances which have leveled the playing field a bit (mediocre ballstrikers are now decent ballstrikers) and there’s just more depth in the talent pool than there ever has been before.

Tiger Woods’ annual World Challenge event that hosts his player-friends and benefits his foundation will relocate from southern California to central Florida in 2014. In Tuesday’s stroke play format, Wilson shot a seven-under 65 at host course, Isleworth Golf & Country Club.

Team Isleworth need not fret of Tiger Woods missing another Tavistock Cup! — in the latest piece of Tiger-divorce record news, he’s keeping his home in the gated community. Bloomberg reports that the property was transferred solely to Tiger on July 4th, the same day his divorce settlement was reached, according to court documents. The home was valued at $2.4 million last year. That’s all?
