Rory McIlroy’s legal dispute with former Dublin-based management company Horizon has escalated, with the world no. 1 withdrawing from two tournaments in China to prepare for trial that’s expected to take place in February.

On Monday McIlroy announced he will skip both the BMW Masters and the WGC-HSBC Champions at the end of this month and the start of the next, respectively. The court mediation between the two parties failed, and thus, the case will proceed to a full hearing.

McIlroy looking for new horizon...

Rory McIlroy couldn’t believe the massive reaction to his recent split with now former agent Chubby Chandler and ISM. It’s not uncommon for players and managers to break up and usually no one notices. But since the 22-year-old won the U.S. Open by a decisive eight strokes and due to Chubby’s high profile, it was big news. (After all, in the new world order Rory breaking a nail might make headlines.)
