Bubba Watson is the proud owner of one of the official General Lee cars from the hit TV show in the late 1970s “Dukes of Hazzard.” The car, of course, has a Confederate flag emblazoned on the top. In light of recent events, Watson announced via Twitter that he will be painting over it with an American flag.

NASCAR hits auto reject button on Bubba's machine
While the Confederate flag often flies from vehicles of NASCAR fans, it’s not welcome on the field in an official capacity. Bubba Watson, who bought “General Lee,” the original car from the “Dukes of Hazzard” TV series, wanted to drive his new ride around the track for a parade lap when NASCAR comes to Phoenix International Raceway in March.
The WM Phoenix Open organizers, the Thunderbirds, a charity secret society group, are known for having a great sense of humor (and throwing wild parties). They’ve also had some fun with the parking signs, like in 2010.

Bubba and General Lee
It only seems natural that a golfer named Bubba Watson from Bagdad, Florida, would buy THE original car from the opening credits of the “Dukes of Hazzard” TV series, and of course, that car would be called “General Lee.”
