Levet: For the win!

French golfer Thomas Levet won his country’s national championship on Sunday. He celebrated by jumping in the pond at Le Golf National. He also broke a bone in his shin, putting the chances of playing in next week’s British Open in question.

Since fans are allowed to shoot video at European Tour events (as we’re all now well aware, thanks to Bubba), here’s the footage below. You can see Levet had trouble getting out of the water. Now we know why.

Captain America!

Bubba Watson dominated the Friday afternoon news cycle — and not necessarily for the right reasons. Apparently Bubba was very homesick after his poor showing (and attitude) at the French Open. Several of his fellow Tour pros, along with LPGA player Christina Kim, took to Twitter to add their two cents.

Bubba in France: This is why Europeans think Americans are all ignorant and obnoxious

Rumored to have been paid a $200,000 appearance fee, Bubba Watson played in the French Open on the European Tour this week. It was Bubba’s first trip to France, and for some reason, I think it might be his last.

Prior to the first round, he toured several of Paris’ most famous sites, but apparently he wasn’t exactly aware of what he saw. Here’s a gem from his Wednesday pre-tourney presser that might make you cower into the fetal position
