We chatted with 2010 U.S. Amateur Champion and European Tour pro Peter Uihlein last Friday — it was one of those rare days when he was actually at home in Jupiter, Florida, where he lives with his girlfriend Chelsea and his dog Bagger.

Pete talks with us about his first trip internationally as a pro in India, playing the Challenge Tour and European Tour, and his plans to compete in the Web.com Tour playoffs to try and earn his PGA Tour card for next season.

David Duval turned back the clock Saturday morning at St Andrews. Playing in the first group out, Duval, who is better known these days for his commentary as a Golf Channel analyst than as a professional golfer, posted a fine five-under 67 — the lowest score at the Open since he carded the same number in the final round of his lone major title — under optimal scoring conditions.

Get excited for the Irish Open to kick off Thursday morning at Royal County Down Golf Club, a brilliant test of golf with a spectacular layout and scenery — no wonder it’s one of the world’s greatest courses. Not enough is said about the venue, which has that “it” factor and special atmosphere that only the best major championship sites possess. In other words, RCD, which is located about an hour from Belfast in Northern Ireland,  feels like it could host an Open Championship and this event feels notably distinct.
