Since the Honda Classic about a month ago — at least that’s when I first heard — there have been rumblings on the PGA Tour, particularly among the club manufacturers, that TaylorMade-adidas Golf was planning to acquire Adams.
Earlier this month, Oliver “Chip” Brewer resigned as the CEO and President of Adams Golf to assume those duties at Callaway Golf (which has been reporting losses in its profit margins and drops in sales). While the company was searching for a successor, Adams named founder and Chairman, Barney Adams, as the interim chief.
