Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods officially celebrated the opening of his first U.S.-based course design at Bluejack National in Texas on Monday. The festivities included Woods playing a friendly five holes with his old pal Mark O’Meara. It was the first time Woods had played any golf hole since his last start on the PGA Tour at the Wyndham Championship in August, according to multiple reports.

Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate that Tiger Woods has a communications team writing corporate updates for him on his website, especially since he’s been on the sidelines — it reminds us that he’s still alive and thinking of us (okay, maybe not really). Tiger Woods posted an update on his health to his website on Wednesday morning. <crickets> There’s nothing really new to divulge, but he did clarify that he has not hit a club longer than his 9-iron (in other words: he isn’t hitting drivers, per reported last week), and he divulged an interesting opinion about his health and career in his press conference at Bluejack Nation, his first finished U.S. golf course design.

A proven winner takes aim at course design

Tiger Woods will be designing his first golf course in the United States this summer.  The course will be located in a development called Bluejack National, which is in Montgomery, Texas (outside of Houston).  Tiger Woods Design plans to complete the 18-hole course in the fall of 2015, and will also be adding a a nine-hole “short course.”
