The inaugural International Crown started with eight teams, and ended with the Spanish quartet of Beatriz Recari, Azahara Munoz, Carlota Ciganda, and Belen Mozo winning with a dominant performance on Sunday. The Spaniards FTW!

For the second day in row, the Solheim Cup was filled with drama and controversy, not to mention painful — and embarrassing — rulings that unnecessarily lasted nearly 30 minutes (maybe longer, but I fell asleep around the 22nd minute) over a drop from a hazard.

Michelle Wie rolled in a clutch 15-footer on 17, putting some pressure on Suzann Pettersen, who had thrown a dart to roughly four feet (Wie had also made a clutch putt on 15 to go 1-up, but Pettersen responded with a birdie on 16.); rookie extraordinaire Ryann O’Toole was 2-up with two to play over Caroline Hedwall; Angela Stanford had just squared up her match against Azahara Munoz.

Which one? There are actually several beautiful and talented rookies from Spain that made some noise on the LPGA this season. But Azahara Munoz had the most consistent year. With two tournaments left, Munoz has such an overwhelming lead in the race for the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year Award that the closest contender, Amanda Blumenhurst, doesn’t have a mathematical shot at catching her.
