Kevin Na’s longtime caddie Kenny Harms is one of the lead complainants in the suit

More than 80 professional golf caddies have filed a class-action federal lawsuit in Northern California against the PGA Tour, seeking compensation for being forced to wear bibs emblazoned with sponsored logos. The caddies allege that the Tour is earning $50 million a year from the sponsors while they receive nothing in return for serving as “human billboards.”

The caddies on the PGA Tour are joining forces to improve their working conditions and week-to-week treatment, and most important, they’re looking to secure healthcare and retirement benefits. More than 100 loopers — 92 of which as of this week have officially paid their yearly dues of $500 each, along with a one-time $100 initiation fee — have organized to form the Association of Professional Tour Caddies (APTC), which was established following several meetings last fall.

Another rules violation, another two-shot penalty for Tiger Woods, who was apparently fuming after PGA Tour officials slapped him with a two-shot penalty for an incident on the first hole during the second round of the BMW Championship.

Woods was already steaming when he kicked off the day with a double-bogey, but it became worse hours later when he was confronted by rules officials in the scoring area and docked two strokes for violating Rule 18-2a. After an errant approach shot that ended up in the woods, Tiger was trying to remove some loose impediments around his ball when it moved (and it’s pretty clear it did).
