Hello from the Albany in the Bahamas! It’s partly sunny, mostly cloudy and rather breezy, but it’s still around 80 degrees. It’s only been “cold” in NYC for a couple of weeks or maybe a month, and I’ll probably regret saying this, but the humidity actually felt nice.

It’s been a rather quiet day at the Hero World Challenge — there were around a handful of guys practicing, but the big event took place mid-morning when tournament host Tiger Woods held his press conference. (I’m not 100% certain, but I’m pretty sure the last time he had an official (solo) presser was in February ahead of the Dubai Desert Classic, and that unfortunately didn’t turn out well (which was IMHO predictable).

The biggest takeaway: Tiger Woods seems genuinely really happy. He was gregarious, all smiles and only once did he give a one-word answer. The past seven years for Tiger has been a rollercoaster and I’ve definitely seen the good, the bad and the ugly, but I don’t recall the last time he was this affable and open. He gave lengthy, thoughtful and honest (as far as I could tell) answers and sometimes even went beyond the scope of the original question.

By Stephanie Wei under Tiger Woods

Here we go again. My mind practically exploded when this press release landed in my inbox this afternoon.  Obviously it had to do with Tiger Woods and another comeback announcement. Woods is apparently making his return to competitive golf in December at the Hero World Challenge (Bahamas, here we come!) after a 16-month hiatus due to a back injury and multiple surgeries.

And everyone’s reaction upon hearing this or reading the press release… and apparently I can’t insert emojis! (I was trying to put the eye-roll one).

Well, Tiger certainly looks like he's in better spirits!

Oh, what a difference eight or nine days make! — on Monday and Tuesday morning Tiger Woods arrived at Lake Nona (via car, not helicopter a la Isleworth and Queenswood) for the lavish exhibition matches, and walked the golf course without a hint of a limp or incident. Phew. Tiger, who represented Albany, had one of those nothing-to-call-home-over days and shot even-par in Day 2 of the Tavistock Cup. Ho-hum.

Lake Nona cruised to win the Tavistock Cup with the team of Oliver Wilson, Ross Fisher, Henrik Stenson, Retief Goosen, Graeme McDowell and Peter Hanson, firing a combined 43-under to earn the right to spray each other with bottles of champagne. In Tuesday’s stroke play format, Wilson shot a seven-under 65 at host course, Isleworth Golf & Country Club.
