As always, some of you asked where you could watch my work for the Open Championship. The only real answer to that is if you live in Asia, I’m on the preview (or post-round) show on Fox Sports, and I also make regular appearances on Fox Sports Central. Since I know most of my reader base is North America and UK-based, you obviously can’t watch.

I’ve picked several features and interviews from the week at Royal Liverpool covering the Open — which was, as always, a complete blast. First, let’s check out the local area…

The Champion Golfer of the year launches his ball into the stands

Remember after Rory McIlroy putted out for par on the 18th hole at Royal Liverpool Golf Club to clinch the Claret Jug and then he celebrated by throwing his ball into the grandstands? Well, either way, that’s what happened.

Lee Horner of Leeds was the man who caught McIlroy’s ball, and now it’s up for auction at GreenJacketAuctions.com. Nike even confirmed the ball’s authenticity.

Last Monday, Sir Nick Faldo joined Glenmorangie Single Malt Scotch Whisky at Chelsea Piers in NYC to celebrate its third year as the Official Spirit of the upcoming Open Championship, which will be held this July at Royal Liverpool in Hoylake, England. Faldo starred in the special panel discussion — which also featured special guest David Cannon, a renowned golf photographer — moderated by Golf Digest senior writer Tim Rosaforte.
