Tiger Woods showed signs of improvement Friday, following his dismal performance Thursday at Isleworth Country Club. In the second round of the Hero World Challenge, Woods posted a two-under 70, despite a double-bogey on the last hole — which included a(nother) chunked chip.

Woods carded a three-over total at the halfway mark of the tournament that benefits his foundation. Although he trimmed seven strokes from his first round, he remains in last place in the 18-man field.

Tiger Woods is making his competitive return to golf at this week’s Hero World Challenge — which benefits his foundation — at his old stomping grounds, Isleworth Country Club, after missing the cut at the PGA Championship in August. He did not name Como, a biomechanics specialist of the golf swing, as his official swing coach. (Semantics?)

Tiger Woods is back to hitting full shots on the driving range, according to USA Today’s Steve DiMeglio.

The former world no. 1 last hit a full golf shot at the PGA Championship in August, but started hitting balls again last week as he continues to rehabilitate from yet another injury. Consulting with his doctors daily, Woods had been limited to chipping and putting, but he’s now making fuller swings.
