Ugh, this stinks
Sorry, I’m a little late to the party — I had the flu over the weekend and I was probably more miserable than Tiger Woods hacking up a 79 on Saturday at Torrey Pines to miss the second cut, also known as “MDF.” (When more than 78 players make the 36-hole cut, there’s a secondary cut following the third round that whittles the field down to top 70 and ties for the final round.)

Spieth takes charge
Playing with defending champion Tiger Woods, Jordan Spieth took his fellow competitor to school at Torrey Pines in the second round of the Farmers Insurance Open. While Woods, who shot an even-par 72 a day earlier, failed to take advantage of any scoring opportunities and posted a mediocre one-under on the North Course (the easier one), Spieth did the opposite, cashing in on just about all of his.
