Ready for the U.S. Open!

This story couldn’t have been scripted. Rory McIlroy, who revealed he’d broken off his engagement to Caroline Wozniacki at the start of the week, headed into the final round trailing by seven strokes, and absolutely tore up the back nine to win the BMW PGA Championship. McIlroy’s five-under 32 on the closing nine at Wentworth, a course where he’s traditionally struggled, included birdies on the final two holes to nip Irishman Shane Lowry by one.

Rory is bouncing back at Wentworth

Rory McIlroy is tied for fifth place at the BMW PGA Championship after posting rounds of 68-71 to get to five-under total. He opened the second round with a three-over 38, but battled back with a four-under 33 on the closing nine to jump into contention at Wentworth.

The Big Easy is looking for a big win

The BMW PGA Championship kicks off tomorrow at the Wentworth Club in Surrey, England.  All of the top names on the European Tour will be vying for the title including Henrik Stenson, who has an opportunity to obtain the top spot in the world golf rankings.
