Though Justin Rose’s two-shot victory at the BMW Championship was perhaps career-defining, there were a fair number of storylines that may have overshadowed it a bit. As I’ve mentioned, there was a lot more riding on the results of the third leg of the FedExCup playoffs than a paycheck — entry into the Tour Championship, which basically sets players up for the following year, and the Presidents Cup.

Rose: Let's do the boogie

Playing in tough, wet conditions at Cog Hill, Justin Rose shot an even-par 71 to close a wire-to-wire victory at the BMW Championship. Rose, who admitted to feeling frustrated at times this season, started the week outside the top 30 in FedExCup points and needed a solid finish to earn a trip to the fourth and final leg of the playoffs, the Tour Championship, along with other perks, such as automatic spots in the Masters, U.S. Open and the British Open.

Hello from Cog Hill! This is my first time at the tournament, but it made a great impression right away — it couldn’t have been a more beautiful day when I arrived in the Chicago area Tuesday. You know, 75-80 degrees, clear skies, no humidity. Then I pulled up to the golf course and, to my delight, discovered media parking was conveniently located near the clubhouse (which has become a major factor when assessing “WUP’s favorite tour stops.” Just kidding…kinda). Two for two so far!
