A happy Tiger celebrating with Aussie fans

As 2011 has ended and the 2012 season is upon us, we’re (still) taking an obligatory look at the winners and losers of 2011. First, we reviewed the best shots. Then, we cringed through the greatest meltdowns. We also checked out some players who were considered overachievers. Next, we took a gander at those who had the most disappointing seasons. Since Shoshana worships Tiger Woods (borderline obsession!), she picked his top-five moments  of 2011 — a touching tribute to his 36th birthday (Dec 30).

Ernie not so quick to jump on the 'Tiger is back' bandwagon

Calm down, everyone. The wise Ernie Els didn’t mean any disrespect, rather he pointed out the facts. Blister in the sun!

Greg Norman missed the PGA of Australia’s 100th anniversary gala dinner on Friday night, fueling whispers throughout the fairways at the Australian Open the following day that Norman had snubbed the PGA or that his courtesy car had failed to arrive. But c’mon, Norman deserves more credit than those petty rumors, and he indeed had a reasonable excuse: The Shark had a horrible blister on his left heel, which was so debilitating that he left The Lakes course in bare feet after the second round, according to the AP:

Frustration... and some awful trouser-shoe coordination.

Tiger Woods made five bogeys and a measly two birdies during a turbulent third round at The Lakes.

Frustrated by the disappearance of the elegance and control that defined his performance over the first two days, the man formerly known as the greatest athlete on the planet cut an animated figure in post-round interview.
