Rich Lerner chatted with Stewart Cink at the SBS Championship. Here’s an excerpt from the interview: What would you like to see happen in the next few months that would help to move the PGA Tour in a positive direction while Tiger’s gone? I would just like for some of the personalities on the PGA […]

When it became apparent that Stewart Cink would top Tom Watson in the four-hole playoff to win the British Open, I tweeted, “I wonder how many congratulatory @replies Stewie is going to have.” I was thinking upwards of 500,000 to a million. I have no idea where and how I can find this number other […]

“This ain’t a funeral. It would have been a helluva story. It wasn’t meant to be.” Those were Tom Watson’s opening words in the press conference which followed immediately after Stewart Cink was presented the Claret Jug. When Cink returned, it was gone. He said, “I registered, then I went back up there real quick and […]

[Ed. note: To read about Royal Troon, the site of this week’s Open Championship, scroll down past where I open with Turnberry… Troon is the second course out of the five.] In the southwest of Scotland–not far from Glasgow–is a historic country called Ayrshire, which is home to at least a handful of top-rate links courses.  I’ve traveled […]
