The Chinese sure don’t mess around when it comes to showing international golf stars a good time (go big or go home, right?).
Last week Lee Westwood, Rory McIlroy, Ian Poulter and China’s number one Liang Wen-chong participated in the Shui On Land China Golf Challenge. Basically, it was like golf’s version of “Amazing Race. They played 18 holes in seven different cities — Shanghai, Zhengzhou, Beijing, Dalian, Chongqing, Dongguan and Macau — over the course of seven days. Judging from their Twitter accounts, they were also treated like kings.
First, let’s take a look at their transportation:
Here’s another classic:
Proof of a good night…?
My favorite tweets probably came from their time in Chongqing. Sounds like it got off to a good start, per Westwood…
Westwood and McIlroy’s manager Chubby Chandler also had no complaints:
Then there was the shark bar…yes, with real live sharks:
And Poulter showing off some new eyewear:
The guys also enjoyed the local cuisine:
And this is by far my favorite pic/tweet of the week:
On their way to the last stop of the week, Macau:
Which is known for its casinos:
The boys stopped by for some gambling:
Oh, they played a few holes, too:
They had some press responsibilities and gave several clinics along the way:

I mean, wasn’t there room for another translator?? After all, I could use a brush-up on my Mandarin!
Poor Rory! — he had to travel 20 hours to Bermuda for free money the PGA Grand Slam:
I think he survived.
Who won the golfing part of the trip, anyway? Westwood drained a 12-footer to beat Liang in the first playoff hole.
