As the sixth and final match of the day, Tiger Woods-Steve Stricker vs. Adam Scott-K.J. Choi, was about to commence, Tiger made the customary rounds, shaking hands with his competitors, their caddies, scorers, marshals, etc. — of course, that included Scott’s caddie and Tiger’s former caddie Steve Williams.
In case you missed it, no punches were thrown. Geoff Shackelford compiled a play-by-play slideshow of The Handshake, which can be seen here.
Tiger looked less happy when he shook Stevie’s hand after losing 7&6 to Scott and Choi. Understandably so — he and Stricker had just gotten a butt-whupping. I wonder what Stevie and Adam said after the round in private (or perhaps even during). Oh, to be a fly on the wall…

Hi Steph, Do you think Tiger bounces back today w/ DJ? I do. I’m also shocked that Norman split up KJ and Scott? Do you think that’s to shore up some shaky players w/ both KJ and Scott playing so well yesterday?
I’ve dumped on Tiger as much as anybody, but I do think he’s trying to smooth out his life both on and off the course.
Damn, look at the tendons on the arms, lotsa love there. I’m glad Tiger handled this one with grace and showed he is the bigger man after all.
I am not a big fan of Tigers but who cares about Steve William? Frankly, he’s made himself a celebrity with his mouth and that is not an admirable quality. Steve is a caddie and when a caddie begins to outshine the players I get suspicious of their motives. Go away Steve, we really don’t care. Your behavior is not positive for golf.
I’m with ducks24 on this…I have very little respect for TW but he is handling this particular issue with class.
Steve Williams on the other hand is just a loudmouth blowhard who should just be ignored.
All that said, as I’ve posted before, I think the furor over what Williams said was way out of proportion and I absolutely don’t believe it was racist, just uncouth.
Even there, the context of a boozy supposedly private function with a group of “insiders” makes even that judgement suspect.
I have no doubt there were plenty of other raucous remarks made that evening that we don’t hear about because the target wasn’t TW.
