A new episode of my and Jess’ weekly web show is up on TourPlayers.com. We compare the PGA Tour and the European Tour — which is stronger? What does it mean that more of the world’s top players are opting out of taking up their PGA Tour cards and just playing in the premier events in the US? It’s just part of that whole multi-layer world tour platform, as I’ve heard it called. (Since filming, world’s number one Lee Westwood announced he’s not even entering THE PLAYERS.)
The best part? The outtake at the end. After we finished the scene Jess and I didn’t know the camera was still running and we start bitch-slapping each other. It’s quite funny and adorable, in my humble opinion, but I’m biased. Be sure to check it out (starts at 2:52 minute mark).
Don’t forget to chime in with your opinions and feedback on the show (and/or website). Jess and I filmed about a dozen shows last month and we’re still getting to know each other (we’ve only met three times!). All things considered, I think our chemistry is pretty good, but obviously, there’s always room for improvement.
We’ll be shooting some fun stuff over at the infamous Bird’s Next at the Phoenix Open in a few weeks, so stay tuned. Cheers!

Haha, Steph, your couldn’t pay attention to what happened in the world because you were chilling on Hawaii
Very nice Steph. With Reege retiring, if you could bump Kelly, you two could have a morning talk show. It would give me an excuse to get out of bed earlier.
I like the angle of your head tilt. Looks very regal, continental, etc…
That is a fun segment. I’m looking forward to a weekly dose of Lucy Liu and Cameron Diaz discuss golf stuff.
@ducks24
I like the head tilt too, especially with the ponytail.
Steph,
So my company does coaching for large public company execs on their communications. Biggest thing with you is to SMILE. You get a little to serious and just a little bit more smiling would really improve the segment. Other than that I couldn’t find the bitch slapping…;(
Hi Steph,
Call me an outcast but I don’t do facebook. Is there any other way to watch the webshow without having to use “facebook connect” thingy?

As to the content of the show, discussing the reasons that European pros are currently not joining the PGA Tour, I agree with your points but feel a couple more should be made.
1. The European Tour allows appearance fees while the PGA Tour doesn’t. As a result, the European Tour player can stay home and get a guaranteed paycheck.
2. IMHO, the PGA Tour has much more depth than the Euro Tour (witness the win of Mark Wilson in Hawaii.) It is much harder to make the cut in a PGA event.
3. I also feel the World Golf Rankings may give disproportionate points to the European Tour events, so a combination of weaker depth of field and disproportionate points make it easier to rise in the World rankings in Europe, which in turn brings about more endorsements and appearance fees.
Why should a European player come to the US when they can stay in Europe, get an appearance fee, play where it easier to make the cut, have lower transportation expenses, and end up with greater endorsement opportunities?
