Would very much like to hear more of that sort of stuff. It's very easy to forget how difficult these courses are setup. All these players are SO excellent around the greens that you just don't notice it as much on TV.

#14 was pretty scary back in February, remember seeing quite a few bogeys there - brutal up hill par 5. With the US open green's, its even harder to imagine the ball staying on that green. Might want to check out the pitching area just over the back of the green, to the left side of the green as you are walking from tee to green.

Really what I want to see is just more candid type reporting, good quotes from players, and a general vibe of the course.

Hi Stephanie,
Make sure you check out the second shot on 8. It's the best second shot in golf. Also, 7th hole and 14th greens are must see and writes!!! If you can ask players about the shots on those you will have ALOT of info to write about. I caddied for Eric Axley yesterday and Ross Fisher played with us. Both talked about the third shot into 14. Great stories about fear while standing over shots that all golfers can relate to. Good luck with parking! Enjoy the week. Let me know if I can help with any background on the course.

Thanks for being the eyes and ears for those of us not able to attend the Open. My son and I went to the Open at Shinnecock. Found it fun to set up on one hole (away from the crowds) and have a front row seat to action. Look forward to your thoughts and photos. Always great stories to tell at an event such as this!
