ICYWOFN: #WUPHangout Friday at Riviera
In case you were out Friday night (ICYWOFN) — and I hope you were or at least had better things to do! — then you probably missed the #WUPHangout at Riviera.
Again, please give me some slack this week as it’s not exactly been an…errr…never mind. Feedback and constructive criticism is more than welcome. These Hangouts are still relatively new to me, so, you know, it’s a process.

Luke Donald Transitions (Back) to No. 1
Another Sunday. Another thrilling finish on the PGA Tour (which has become the norm early in the 2012 season). So, what happened this time?
Luke Donald overcame a three-shot deficit heading into the final round of the Transitions Championship to fire a five-under 66, 13-under total, and earn a spot in the four-man playoff with Robert Garrigus, Jim Furyk and Sang-Moon Bae. After driving it in the rough on the 18th, the first extra hole, Donald came through in the clutch. He hit a beautiful 7-iron to about 6 feet and then rolled it in for birdie to win his fifth-career PGA Tour event. (continue reading…)
Els Collapses in Bid to Win Transitions Championship (and Earn Masters Invite)
The last two years on the golf course haven’t been a walk in the park for Ernie Els, a three-time major champion. For a few hours on Sunday afternoon at Innisbrook’s Copperhead course, Els had a chance to break his two-year win-less streak on the PGA Tour, but he stumbled coming down the stretch, missing short putts and bogeying two of the last three holes at the Transitions Championship. Golf’s biggest draw may be halfway around the world, but that doesn’t mean the PGA Tour has ground to a halt. I mean, we’ve been over this: there’s six million dollars on offer at Torrey Pines!
