Guan Tianlang: having a good old sit, in a field.

Chinese amateur Guan Tianlang completed a wire-to-wire victory at the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship in Thailand yesterday, thus ensuring his early invitation to next year’s Masters Tournament.

Currently just 14 years and 5 months old, Guan looks set to demolish Matteo Manassero’s 2010 record, set when the Italian was 16, and become the youngest competitor in the tournament’s 77-year history.

Mature beyond his years, in fashion terms.

Chinese amateur Guan Tian-lang golfed his way into the record books at the Volvo China Open this morning, shooting 77 en route to becoming the youngest player ever to compete in a European Tour event.

At the tender age of 13 years and 173 days, the teenager assumed the record from compatriot Lo Shik-kai, three months older in making his debut at the 2003 Honk Kong Open.
