Play Delayed at the Greatest Show on the Frozen Desert…I Mean, Grass. (*Update)

A spectator walks toward TPC Scottsdale as icicles form on a water fountain

As expected, first-round play of the Phoenix Open has been delayed due to frost. In other words, the ground is frozen and temperatures aren’t rising at TPC Scottsdale. At 9:30am local time, it’s 32 degrees. Good news is that it’s finally not below freezing! Balls in the Air: Waste Management Open

Welcome to Balls in the Air, where I size up my Fantasy Golf picks of the week, featuring guys to watch (or not) and interesting story lines. Disclaimer: My picks may suck, but I do think through the factors that may weigh in.

  • About Me

Hi! My name is Stephanie Wei. I grew up in Seattle. I live in Manhattan, NYC. I played competitive golf for ten years in the junior and college ranks. I went to Yale, where I played on the women's golf team and graduated in '05 with a B.A. in History.

I still enjoy pegging it, but don't ask me my handicap because I stopped keeping one when I left for college. More important, I'm feisty and I like to smile a lot. I also love sports, spandex and surprises.
