Hold up, hold up

I’m catching up on the good ol’ blog since I took a much-needed respite the last few days. (Yes, I’m in Hilton Head for The Heritage, but I made my grand entrance into the media center only today — hey, it was at 7am, though!) I’ve obviously watched Bubba Watson on Letterman, along with several other moments of his dazzling post-Masters victory media tour in NYC. There were a few other gems that came out of the woodwork, while I was sleeping resting.

In an interview with CNBC’s Darren Rovell, Mark Steinberg chats about the “tough” year. Not surprisingly, Steinberg doesn’t say much other than revealing that Team Tiger is close to finalizing a deal with an Asian company (which Tiger alluded to a few weeks ago) and in talks with several potential sponsors for placement on his golf bag.

Darren: How close are you to a new endorsement deal?

Steinberg: We’re close to a deal coming out of Asia and we’re in discussions with a number of companies interested in being on his golf bag.
