Your 2012 Memorial Day weekend open thread: Zach attack and Luke back to No. 1

Zach and caddie Damon Green pay tribute to Damon's dad who last battle to stomach cancer 10 days ago

Just landed in Columbus for Jack’s tournament, the Memorial, this upcoming week — that’s right, after a two-week hiatus, I’m back on Tour. Woot!

While I was packing and hustling to catch my flight, I watched the last nine holes of the duel between Zach Johnson and Jason Dufner, who was gunning for his third win in four starts, at Colonial. It might as well have been match play since the rest of the field was too many strokes back to catch the duo. Turned out to be an intriguing finish in more than one way. (continue reading…)

Balls in the Air: Crowne Plaza Invitational (and the European PGA)

After a very long hiatus, welcome (back) to this special edition of Balls in the Air, where I size up my Fantasy Golf picks of the week, featuring guys to watch (or not), and interesting story lines and tidbits from behind the scenes.

The usual poker-faced Dufner reacts with extra gusto on the 72nd hole in Dallas

The 27-year-old Australian signed for a 64 to follow his three-under 67 effort. With first-round co-leader David Toms still on the course, Bowditch is the leader in the clubhouse, along with Charlie Wi. (continue reading…)

Nice Effing Frog Costume, Jerry Kelly

Jerry Kelly settled his Rose Bowl bet with JJ Henry

Back in January, J.J. Henry, who played golf at TCU, and Jerry Kelly, who hails from Madison, WI, made a Rose Bowl bet. The loser had to wear the winning school’s mascot costume. On Wednesday ten minutes before Henry and TCU football coach Gary Patterson teed off for the pro-am at Colonial, Kelly walked up to the practice green in a full Superfrog costume. • About Me

Hi! My name is Stephanie Wei. I grew up in Seattle. I live in Manhattan, NYC. I played competitive golf for ten years in the junior and college ranks. I went to Yale, where I played on the women's golf team and graduated in '05 with a B.A. in History.

I still enjoy pegging it, but don't ask me my handicap because I stopped keeping one when I left for college. More important, I'm feisty and I like to smile a lot. I also love sports, spandex and surprises.
