Callaway Golf has announced the appointment of snake-hipped pop star Justin Timberlake as the company’s new “Creative Director”.

I’m quoting the great Charlie Sheen, who quoted the great Allen Iverson during an interview with Jeff Rossen of NBC’s Today. Sheen, who has been the talk of the town for, well, being Charlie Sheen, the many loony (yet so absurd, it’s addicting) things he’s been saying lately and suing CBS, was asked if he’d ever missed a day of work. “Not a day that cost anybody any money,” said Sheen, rolling his eyes. “I missed practice. I’m talking about practice, to quote the great Allen Iverson. Practice! Come on, guys, we’re talking about practice.”

My left foot isn’t happy, but I get stir-crazy sitting in the media center when I should be outside scouring the practice areas and course. So, off I went sans crutches, no less (they’re such a pain when I’m trying to take notes and I look way cooler limping than hobbling, anyway — which, of course, is totally important). First of all, I definitely need a cover story in the place of the actual, lame one. I ran into Hunter Mahan before his press conference and Twitter chat, who suggested I go with something like, “I was diving off the stage at the Bird’s Nest to crowd surf and those drunks dropped me.”

Friday at the PGA Merchandise Show was much more productive than Thursday. I put on my game face and sketched out a tentative to-do list. Basically, I came to terms with the fact that I couldn’t see and/or do everything (this may be hard to believe, but I have the tendency to overextend myself). I figured the best way to show you guys what I saw is through pictures (I certainly apologize for the poor quality, but I went all amateur hour and used my phone, with the exception of several, like the one above, which is courtesy of Derek from 72strokes.com). You know what they say — where there’s smoke, there’s fire. For the past two months, rumor of Graeme McDowell leaving Callaway for Srixon fluttered through the golf industry. Now that it’s the new year, the news has been confirmed. McDowell has signed a multi-year deal estimated at $3 million with Srixon, the Belfast Telegraph reported:
