I should have posted this last Saturday and we are actually open now (well, sort of), but I just really wanted to post the picture above. I needed a few R&R days before returning to the grind with two big tourneys back-to-back — the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational (which will now be referred to as “Firestone”) and the final major of the year, the PGA Championship.
I doubt anyone noticed with the Olympics kicking off last weekend. I’m pretty sure at least half of you guys have been busy being outraged with NBC’s tape-delayed coverage that has forced you to ponder the unthinkable: STAYING OFF THE INTER-WEBS!
Wait, what? Didn’t we just come back from a major?! Yeah, it’s like this every year — the US Open, Open Championship and the PGA are clumped really close together.
Well, I’m headed to the airport to catch a flight to Akron, Ohio, the tour stop with the best Wal-Mart people-watching stories, and I’ll be back in the trenches, where I’ll be huddled behind my computer and typing posts for WUP.
I got a taste of working on the TV side of things and I was spoiled! Well, that and I’m also hungry to apply what I learned at the Open, so I can get better.
Well, let me know if you hear of anything. K? K. Thanks.
