If Woods had made the same joking “suck it” comment after finally winning at Chevron or Bay Hill, he would have been crucified. The laughter and acceptance with which Kuchar’s comment was greeted was bought with years of having a good nature and an open joy for what he does, even when it isn’t going well. More players could take a lesson from how Kuchar handles both success AND adversity.

One of the most consistent guys out on tour. Kuchar deserved this victory with all the solid golf he has been playing. He has had a habit on finishing in the top 10 without winning the last 2 years but i’m glad he was able to close the deal this time.

Kuchar has a temper, and even when he blows it, he’s smiling, it’s weird. But don’t let it fool you, like Stricker he is fiercely competitive.

Good to see him get another win. I remember the smiling teenager making those runs in the Masters and U.S. Open after winning the U.S. Amateur, and he’s never lost that attitude. I don’t think the U.S. Open rough will be kind to his long swing, but if he keeps it in the fairway, he could be in the running.

My favorite Matt Kuchar moment was at Augusta this year on 12 when he hits it short into the bunker.
As soon as he hit it off the tee, he said “Oh Dear”.

Who on Tour (or plays any golf) hits a bad shot and says “Oh Dear”?
Such a refreshing change.

He seems like a really nice and happy person.
