The National Enquirer has published a story (possibly of the fairytale variety) claiming former world No1 Tiger Woods (or “disgraced golfer Tiger Woods,” as the Daily Mail has it) is positively desperate to remarry his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren. So desperate, in fact, that he’s willing to sign a pre-nuptial agreement containing a $350m “anti-cheating clause”.

An “unnamed source” close to the couple — really, were you expecting anything more substantial? — alleged that Nordegren insisted on the agreement as a prerequisite to any long-term reconciliation.

‘Tiger didn’t even balk at the demand. Even though his accountants think he’s crazy, he’s ready to sign the pre-nup and set a wedding date.

“The guy has never recovered from being dumped by Elin. He’s dated lots of models and bimbos, but none of them were more than a one night stand.”

The figure named by the Daily Mail appears to include the reported $110m Nordegren was awarded in the couple’s divorce proceedings, placing the potential cost to Woods of an additional payout at over $200m.

The couple divorced in 2010 in the immediate wake of a slow-burning tabloid scandal that revealed Woods to have been a serial adulterer.
