I can see the point about Q-school and that one good week should not earn you a PGA tour card.

My biggest gripe is that the guys who finish 1-25 on the Nationwide tour don’t automatically get in. They proved that they belong over an entire season and should get in automatically. They don’t need to prove it in three tournaments.

Why is everyone so romantic about having Q School? Its been proven that the results there are not a good predictor of success on Tour. Is there alot of drama ? Sure, but also it perpetuates an ineffective system.

The resisters are most likely all the low tier guys that are just worried that they will lose the current edge they have at Q school compared to younger, better players, who would likely beat them out given a full season on NWIDE series

Wow!?!? This new policy on Q-school and the fall series may make the European Tour more appealing and stronger for some people.

I’ve always felt that Q-school was a bit unfair in that it’s just one week. Golf is not like other athletic events like running, for instance, where the performance will be similar from week to week. Ho many times do we see a guy miss a cut or two, then win a tournament seemingly out of nowhere. Most golfers are not like Luke Donald where they’ll be in the top 20 every week.

I don’t know if this new arrangement is the final answer but it does appear to be a little fairer.
