Rumors of a romance between Dustin Johnson and Natalie Gulbis have been flying around for the past few months. (Well, it’s been a known fact inside the ropes.) It was finally confirmed on Saturday at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in Kapalua when Gulbis was spotted following DJ’s group.

The telegenic twosome quietly began dating after having competed alongside each other at the Wendy’s 3-Tour Challenge in early November.

The romance went public on Saturday when Gulbis followed Johnson on the back nine of his third round at the Tournament of Champions. She was dressed in head-to-toe adidas attire, a nice bit of corporate synergy as both she and Johnson are key endorsers for the company.

Following Johnson’s 73 Gulbis confirmed they were dating but said with a laugh, ”I’ll let Dustin handle our p.r.” Reached Saturday evening, he declined comment.

Alan and I chatted with her after she walked up 18 toward the clubhouse. She flew in from Las Vegas to Maui on Saturday afternoon and arrived to the course in time to walk the back nine with him. Notice how much better DJ played on the back? He bombed a drive on the 10th green and made eagle. DJ shot 40 on the front nine, but finished strong with a 33 on the back. Coincidence, perhaps.

In December at the Shark Shoot-Out, Gulbis was spotted at the Ritz Naples, according to a high-level USGA official, who was wondering what she was doing there until he saw her with DJ in a PDA moment at the hotel bar.

Friends of the couple say Natalie and Dustin are “perfect for each other.”

Now we just need to come up with a “Brangelina” nickname for them. Suggestions?
