Look who’s back from France and tweeting up a storm, apologizing for his antics at the French Open — Bubba Watson, of course.
Start reading from the bottom.
His actions will speak for themselves in a few weeks time, won’t they?
I still stand by my thoughts in previous posts regarding this topic. Maybe I’ve just caught him on bad days (or witnessed too many of them), but even before I was a media member, I was instructed not to talk to him and to stay away from him during a practice round at a tournament two years ago — I was told it was for my own protection.

if the overseas tourneys are willing to pay appearance fees to get players, they get what they deserve
Above is the fake, I want to make money and keep my sponsors happy, Bubba. The real Bubba spoke loud and clear the other day. People don’t change no matter how often they Tweet and try to make up.
Bubba looks to me to be a temporary phenom – his appeal is being incredibly long. But an entire generation of long – or longer – players have arrived or are in the pipeline.
His mechanics are home made, his demeanor is less than admirable, and his record of winning is not exceptional.
Probably won’t turn into the Daly freak show, but I think we won’t be bothered by him much longer.
Bravo Steph! Saw Bubba in Celtic Manor last Ryder Cup & his treatment of his caddie was apalling. Cheap dude.
I dont know why this story really pisses me off. I was a big Bubba fan and now I can’t stand how he portrayed USA. We have a bad enough image in europe and this just proves a point. It’s bad enough the US players are getting embarrassed by the European players on the course. F*CK Bubba.
You know, for all the people that have called Mickelson “fake” over the years, I’ve never once heard of anything like this happening with him. I think ol’ Bubba needs a lesson in humility. Being able to hit a golf ball a long way does not make you a better person than anyone else. If it weren’t for those fans and media following you around, you wouldn’t have that 500k watch on your wrist.
@MW
When he was an amateur playing the Walker Cup in Dublin, Mickelson had to do some damage control when he said there weren’t many attractive women in ireland.
Here’s the story:

That said, Phil has never reached the depths of Bubba.
This morning I watched Thomas Levet’s dramatic win and the crowd’s rousing celebration. Bubba should have seen this, because it shows that the French really love their golf – especially when one of their “homeboys” win their Open.
Bubba will learn from ethis gaffe (I hope).
@Marky Mark, Phil’s doing pretty good if the worst thing reported on him happened 20 years ago, haha.
@Mark Mark – funny story on Phil. If one grew up in San Diego and was BMOC at ASU, you might get a distorted view of the overall hotness factor in a typical area. What was also funny was the comments on that story that just crushed the writer for bringing it out after his Masters win. I read the story as kind of funny and not really going after him really.
Great job, for writing this, steph!
lol Phil’s stuck his foot in his mouth plenty of other times. Just not (I don’t think) about other countries
