Muirfield might be getting a lot of criticism — some of it unfair (I’m looking at you, Phil “The Greens Are Dead” Mickelson) — for basically being a rather difficult links course, but that’s not to say luck hasn’t played its part in deciding a few outcomes this week.

Luke Donald wasn’t breathing any huge sighs of relief after this fluke at the Muirfield’s ninth, though; he later signed for an opening round of 80.
