Irene Cho Shoots Career Low In Third Round Of LPGA Championship

With play suspended at the LPGA Championship, the leaders are still waiting to complete their third rounds.

The real story of the day is Irene Cho, who fired 7-under-par 65, the lowest round of her professional career. She even bogeyed the final hole; nonetheless, a fine score! And what better time to shoot your career low than at a major?

I reached Irene for a comment.

I’m just trying to stay patient, taking it one shot at a time, and just always keeping a positive attitude. A little bit of both [ballstriking and putting] was working for me…and some help from the golf gods.

It never hurts to have luck, but without a doubt, she deserves the credit for her solid play. She’s got game!

Although there are two dozen players yet to finish their round, it looks like she will have the low-round of the day. She is currently T-11 and  4-under-par for the tournament. Those atop the leaderboard and tied with her have yet to finish their rounds. But we might see some of them coming in with higher scores due to the the poor weather conditions this afternoon. So, she has a good chance to move up going into the final day.

Best of luck tomorrow, Irene!

UPDATE: Play has just resumed. In related news, Suzann Pettersen has withdrawn. She explains here and here.
