Will Monty get it done?
Colin Montgomerie is a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame, yet remarkably, he has never won an event in the United States. Many of his best chances came at the majors, where he had three second place finishes at the U.S. Open. Monty has a chance to ease the sting of those near misses if he can break through the packed leaderboard at the Senior PGA Championship.
Fred Couples pulled out of the Senior PGA Championship at Valhalla due to back problems. Couples, who lost in a playoff at the event last year, has battled an ailing back for years, but has experienced more difficulties this season, causing him to limit his schedule on the PGA and Champions Tours.
