Rory McIlroy unveiled Tuesday he has signed a multiyear, “long-term” deal with TaylorMade to play with its bag, full set of clubs and ball. Yep, all 14 clubs in his bag plastered with the company’s logo will be produced by TaylorMade.

The Guardian is reporting that McIlroy contract is worth $100 million for 10 years. Ga-ching!

After Tommy Fleetwood rolled in a four-footer for birdie on the par-5 18th to get to 17-under for the tournament, he took a two-shot lead and essentially clinched the win. But he still had to wait for three more players to finish, as he was in the penultimate group in the final round of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship that featured a star-studded field.

Only Pablo Larrazábal had a chance of catching Fleetwood to force a playoff, but he needed an eagle. Larrazábal missed the green short left and needed a small miracle to pitch in to match Fleetwood at 17-under. His attempt fell short, but even before that, it felt like the champion had been already crowned — which was when Fleetwood made his putt for birdie.

Welcome to this year’s edition of the WUP Holiday Gift Guide for Golfers. If you have a golfer on your gift list, then you’ve come to the right place for some ideas and/or inspiration. As someone who has lots of golf-crazed friends and family, these are the items that they’ll probably be unwrapping this holiday season. Once again, I’ve tried to mix it up from brands, price range and gender, as well as adding my own creative editorial vision.

Good luck shopping over the next couple of weeks. And don’t worry, you’re not alone — I’ve been experiencing major anxiety every time I approach a store and/or trying to figure out how to tackle getting everyone on my list the best present on the planet.

Happy Holidays!

You’ve read Part 1 and Part 2 of this series, and lastly, we have Part Rory.

Rory McIlroy overcame a four-shot deficit at the start of the final round to beat Adam Scott on the 72nd hole at Royal Sydney and win the Australian Open, his first victory in 2013. We spent the day with McIlroy last week in Las Vegas at TPC Summerlin, where Rory talked about getting dialed in with the latest equipment from Nike Golf, along with his increased performance since putting the new clubs and ball in his bag.

Here now, check out Rory talking about playing with the new RZN Black ball:

As I promised in Part 1, I’d share my personal experiences with testing the new Nike products on the uncharacteristically cold and breezy day at TPC Summerlin in Vegas.

I was one of the few crazy people who decided to play a few holes in the tough conditions because I wanted to provide the best review possible for you, the readers (it’s all about *you guys*, after all!), which I’m paying for now with a fever and cold. No big deal, though! — it’s part of the job!

The Covert family

The Covert family

As many of you already know, I spent a few days with Nike Golf last week in Beaverton, Oregon, and Las Vegas, Nevada, for the equipment company’s annual Innovation Summit, where they launched their latest designs and creations with apparel, shoes, balls and clubs, most notably, the Covert 2.0 family.

What I learned? Nike makes an incredibly solid product across the board. I know, right? — shocking! (And no, I’m not getting paid to say this, though Nike Golf did sponsor the trip.) I’ll share my personal experiences in testing the product in “Part 2,” but for now, check out my interviews with Nike athletes and photos and info from the presentations.
