Three-under was a very popular score amongst the morning wave that teed off in the first round of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship at Westchester Country Club. At one point, there were 14 players tied at -3, but it appears scoring conditions have improved for the afternoon wave and there are several players that have gotten to four- or five-under.
I had the chance to catch up with a few of the ladies who played in the morning. First, I chatted with Christina Kim, who shot a two-under 71, which included a long birdie putt on the 18th from off the green — and a kickass celebration with plenty of fist pumps.
