Apparently the players at the BMW PGA Championship have been going flag-hunting at Wentworth and doing so successfully — as it’s been a week aplenty with holes-in-ones.

On Sunday in the final round, it was Chris Wood’s turn. Wood aced the 178 yard par-3 14th with a smooth 7-iron and won a BMW i8 (which he may or may not fit into).
Wood’s hole-in-one was the fifth of the week, joining Miguel Angel Jimenez, Andrew Johnston, Trevor Fisher Jr, and Craig Lee, and marking a new record at the European Tour’s flagship event.
“Last night at the hotel I bumped into Miguel and I said, ‘Another hole-in-one, ten now, when is it my turn,'” recounted Wood after posting a six-under 66. “I just about fit in there. Lovely car.”
Wood was immediately aware that he had won the BMW i8 as a prize for the ace.
“Like all the players, we sort of look on that 14th on Tuesday when we have a practice round and we think, wouldn’t it be nice, a BMW i8,” he said. “Never think that it’s going to happen to you.
“I hit a great shot, 7-iron, and it was a bit of a delayed reaction because you hear two cheers, one sounded like it just missed and the second one it went in.”
