The price of golf’s most coveted ticket just got a little more expensive. A four-day Masters badge will cost $325, $75 more, an increase of 30% from 2014, according to the Augusta Chronicle.
It’s the first price increase since 2012 when the sought-after badges went up $50 to $250. It’s also the single biggest price jump for a badge since the tournament started in 1934.
Augusta National Golf Club notified patrons that application renewal and payment must be completed online by January 31, or their ticket allocations would be forfeited. Hopefully most people can cough up the extra cash, but I’m sure those on the waiting list wouldn’t mind if it’s become too expensive to some. At the same time, many regard a Masters badge as priceless. After all, it’s long been considered the toughest ticket in sports to obtain.
The 2015 Masters will be held April 9-12. Only 100 days away!
