If you travel to play in a golf tournament in South Africa, you may encounter unique, unexpected hazards and widlife — one of them is getting chased by a baboon, which is exactly what happened to Luke Donald, who holds the halfway lead at the Nedbank Challenge.
The Englishman’s most significant challenge may have been evading the charging creature. He was warned by playing partner Shane Lowry of the possible threat.
“It didn’t really pay any attention to me, but gave me a bit of a fright when Shane said, ‘watch out!” said Donald, who fired a nine-under 63 to take a two-shot advantage heading into the weekend.
What’s scarier? Alligators or monkeys? I say the former.
