Graham DeLaet fights through injury with a 68
By Bernie D'Amato under PGA Championship

Several players have withdrawn from the PGA Championship, and Graham DeLaet thought he was headed for an early exit after hurting his neck during his warmup. Instead, the 32-year-old Canadian shot a three-under 68, and is currently T6 at five-under total.

After the round, DeLaet said, “It was a tough day, for sure. I was warming up this morning, I kinked my neck pretty bad. I wasn’t able to really move. If you’d asked me this morning, I thought I was going to miss the cut. I didn’t think I was going to be able to get it around. A bunch of Advil, some Tylenol.”

He added, “I made a few good putts today, just kind of bunted it around. Some days when you don’t have any expectations you never know what’s going to happen.”

Graham finished the round with six birdies, one bogey, and a double-bogey on the difficult par-4 second hole. Hopefully, he gets treatment on his neck, and rolls in a few more birdies tomorrow.
