Despite seven shot deficit, Garcia remains positive
By Bernie D'Amato under The Open Championship

The window of opportunity is closing quickly at the 143rd Open Championship, but there is still a chance for Sergio Garcia, who sits in a tie for third with Dustin Johnson at 9-under par.

On Saturday, Sergio fired a three-under 69. He got his round to four-under after a birdie on 16, but a bogey-par finish on 17 and 18 took away some momentum heading into the final round.

Garcia understands it will be very difficult to overcome a seven shot deficit tomorrow, but he is optimistic about the state of his game. “It’s been a very solid season so far. Out there again in contention in a major. Obviously, if Rory wasn’t 16-under, it would be really, really tight. But I feel quite good with the way I’ve been playing, and with the way I’ve kind of been handling myself throughout the week. And hopefully, I’ll be able to do it again for another day and see where I finish.”

Maybe the laid back, positive attitude is exactly what Sergio needs to breakthrough at a major.
