TV coverage for The Open Championship

ESPN is giving golf fans all the coverage they would ever want for the 143rd Open Championship. On Thursday and Friday, ESPN will air 11 hours of live play from 4 a.m. – 3 p.m. ET. There will also be a live feed dedicated to Tiger Woods on ESPN3.

On Saturday, play will be aired from 7 a.m. – 2:30 p.m ET, and on Sunday, play will be aired from from 6 a.m. – 1:30 p.m ET. Paul Azinger and Mike Tirico will be up in the tower, and this is Tirico’s 18th consecutive year as lead announcer for ESPN’s Open Championship coverage.

David Duval will join the telecast after his round on Thursday.

Here are the on-course reporter assignments for Thursday’s round:


3:37 a.m. ET: Luke Donald, Rickie Fowler, Sergio Garcia – Billy Kratzert

4:04 a.m. ET: Tiger Woods, Angel Cabrera, Henrik Stenson – Andy North

4:26 a.m. ET: Rory McIlroy, Hideki Matsuyama, Jordan Spieth – Dottie Pepper


9:05 a.m. ET: Phil Mickelson, Ernie Els, Bubba Watson – Judy Rankin

9:27 a.m. ET: Adam Scott, Justin Rose, Jason Dufner – Billy Kratzert
