I’m not sure why it’s taken me so long to start a “mailbag” column, a la Drew Magary’s Funbag on Deadspin or Bill Simmons’ Mailbag. I get tons of emails from readers and non-readers on everything from advice to golf courses to Tiger Woods, along with the occasional hate mail. Which are all appreciated.
I love hearing from you guys and I truly try to respond to as many emails as possible, but sometimes I don’t get to all of them and they get lost amidst the bottomless pit of my inbox. Consider this my public apology to everyone who has emailed me and never received a response.
Solution! Why not make it a weekly feature? — everybody wins!
Here’s how it’s going to work (and mind you, it’s in beta form, so it’s subject to change).
*Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org OR comment on my Facebook Page, where I’ll post an update requesting questions every week, for your musings on golf, football (go Seahawks!), twerking, Syria, whatever.
*I’ll pick 8 or 10 — sometimes less, sometimes more — of your letters and answer them in the weekly column. I’m probably going to record a video version, as well.
*I won’t use your full name — just your first or you can request to be “anonymous,” but just so you guys don’t think I’m making up these questions (not that I would because who has time for that?!?), I’d prefer at least a pseudonym.
What else? I think that’s it. You can ask anything, but the wittier or more interesting your question/comment is, the more likely I’ll pick it to respond. That said, don’t feel like you have to be funny. This will be fun. Right now, I think Friday is a good day to schedule the “Hey, Wei!” column, but again, that’s subject to change.
Let’s get started. Oh, and Happy Labor Day. I can’t believe summer is unofficially over.
