Former amateur stand-out Peter Uihlein continued to make the most of a challenging Carton House layout at the Irish Open this morning, shooting a 68 in blustery conditions to grab a share of the halfway lead.
Uihlein, whose form has been impressive since capturing his maiden European Tour title at the Madeira Islands Open in May, is joined on an aggregate total of nine-under par by Englishman Robert Rock (66).
The pair currently find themselves two clear of a chasing pack that includes former Ryder Cup captain José María Olazábal (69), home favourite Shane Lowry (70) and Joost Luiten (70), winner of the this month’s Lyoness Open.
