WUP programming announcement: Gone fishin’, U.S. Open preview schedule
By Stephanie Wei under US Open

Kisses!

Apologies for the lack of posts between the U.S. Open sectional qualifying and this weekend. In preparation to provide you with the best coverage possible from The Olympic Club, I had a sleep-a-thon to recover from traveling all year Memorial until the U.S. Open next week.

Pretty sure I came close to breaking my own record for consecutive-hours slept Wednesday and Thursday, but I woke up to go on a boat in the rivers surrounding St. Simons Island and Sea Island, and ventured out to the Atlantic Ocean. We caught the baby Black-tipped shark in the Hampton River and it posed with me for a few pictures before I threw it back in the water.

Some things to note or mark on your calendar:

*I recommend reading John Paul Newport of the WSJ’s column on how stats suggest that the long game has become more advantageous than the short game on the PGA Tour. Interesting. Not surprised.

*****

*Remember, the FIRST- and SECOND-ROUND PAIRINGS are posted here.

Since I don’t have golf pictures, here are some random ones from the Sea Island area. If you’re not already following me on Instagram (@StephanieMWei), you should do that…like right now! I tweet a lot of interesting tidbits and information throughout the day, so you really should follow me on Twitter (@StephanieWei … my site is in process of being redesigned and it’ll be much easier to follow my tweets when it’s completed). And Facebook, of course.
