Conway Farms, 209-acre playground of well-heeled North Chicagoans (and Luke Donald), will host the third event of the 2013 FedEx Cup Playoffs, the BMW Championship.
The course, a Tom Fazio design, has served as the venue for a number of elite amateur events, including the Western Amateur and Men’s NCAA Division I Championship, since opening in 1991.
Donald, a member of the club and local resident, declared himself satisfied with the decision in a series of unprompted statements:
“As a long-time member at Conway Farms, I feel like it offers one of the best all-around tests of golf in the Chicago area and will be a course that my fellow pros really enjoy. For a relatively young golf course, Conway Farms has quickly become a prestigious club, and because it provides such a different test every time you play it, is sure to make the BMW Championship a thrilling event for players and fans alike.”
Au revoir, Cog Hill.
